About Hope Foundation
Started at a kitchen table in 2009. Today, a movement of donors, volunteers, and local partners working toward one simple idea: that hope, backed by action, lasts.
Our story
Hope Foundation is a community-driven nonprofit that funds education, food security, and clean water programs for families who need them most. Since 2009, every dollar you give goes to work where it matters.
It began when our founder, a teacher, started buying lunches for the children in her class who came to school hungry. Word spread, neighbours pitched in, and a kitchen-table effort grew into a registered charity. Fifteen years later we still operate on that same principle: see a real need, find the people closest to it, and put resources directly into their hands.
We are deliberately lean. Ninety-three cents of every dollar reaches our programs, and we publish an annual impact report so you can see precisely what your generosity built.
The values that guide us
Listen first
We never assume we know best. Every program starts with the community telling us what they need most.
Spend wisely
93 cents of every dollar reaches the field. We treat your gift like it is the last dollar in the jar.
Build to last
We train local leaders to run every program, so the impact outlives our involvement by years.

Where the trust comes from
We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, audited annually by an independent firm, and our financials are open to anyone who asks. We have earned a four-star rating for transparency four years running.
- Independently audited every year
- Annual impact report published publicly
- Local partners in every region we serve
- 100% volunteer-led board of directors
